Copyright and Licensing Policy

The United International Journal of Advanced Engineering and Digital Technologies (UIJAEDT), published by ANNAM Academic Publishers, supports the broad dissemination and responsible reuse of scholarly research.

UIJAEDT publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, unless otherwise stated for a particular article or publication.

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, readers and other users may:

  • Share and redistribute the published material in any medium or format.

  • Adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the published material.

  • Use the material for both non-commercial and commercial purposes.

These permissions are provided provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the source of publication, a link to the applicable license is provided, and any changes made to the original material are clearly indicated.

Authors' Rights

Authors retain the appropriate rights to their scholarly work subject to the publishing agreement and the applicable Creative Commons license.

Authors may share their published articles through appropriate channels, including:

  • Personal academic or professional websites.

  • Institutional repositories.

  • Subject-specific repositories.

  • Research and academic networks.

  • University or employer repositories.

  • Other legitimate platforms that permit scholarly sharing.

When sharing the published version, authors are encouraged to provide the official UIJAEDT publication link or DOI, when available, so that readers can access the authoritative version of record.

Attribution Requirement

Any reuse of an article or substantial portion of its content should provide appropriate attribution.

A suitable attribution should normally include:

  • Author name(s).

  • Article title.

  • Journal name.

  • Volume and issue, where applicable.

  • Publication year.

  • DOI or permanent article link, where available.

  • A reference to the CC BY 4.0 license.

Users should also indicate if modifications have been made to the original material.

Use of Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all material included in their manuscripts can legally be published and distributed under the applicable license.

Third-party materials such as photographs, figures, tables, diagrams, datasets, extended quotations, or other copyrighted content may not automatically be covered by the Creative Commons license applied to the article.

Where the author does not own the copyright or where the material is not in the public domain, the author must obtain the necessary permission from the copyright holder before publication.

Any applicable restrictions or third-party licensing conditions should be clearly identified in the manuscript.

Reproducing Previously Published Material

Authors must obtain appropriate permission when reproducing copyrighted material from another publisher or copyright holder where such permission is required.

This may include:

  • Figures or photographs.

  • Tables or charts.

  • Diagrams or illustrations.

  • Substantial extracts of text.

  • Previously published graphical material.

  • Material for which copyright has been transferred to another party.

Authors should retain evidence of permission and provide it to the editorial office when requested.

Use of Previously Published Data

Authors may use publicly available data or previously published information where permitted, provided that the original source is appropriately cited and the applicable terms of use are respected.

Tables or figures substantially reconstructed from previously published information should clearly acknowledge the original source, for example:

“Data adapted from [Source].”

Quotations and Fair Use

Short quotations may be included where permitted by applicable copyright law and should always be appropriately cited.

Authors should avoid reproducing substantial portions of another person's copyrighted work without permission.

The responsibility for determining whether permission is required rests with the author. Where there is uncertainty regarding copyright ownership or permitted reuse, authors should obtain permission from the relevant copyright holder before submission.

Copyright Infringement

UIJAEDT will not knowingly publish material that infringes the copyright or intellectual property rights of another person or organization.

If a credible copyright concern is raised regarding a published article, the journal may investigate the matter and take appropriate action. Depending on the circumstances, this may include correction, removal of infringing material, publication of a notice, or retraction of the article.
